About

We are interested in developing tools to help us better understand how the interaction of different molecules gives rise to some of the functions of cellular life. We are particularly interested in applying these techniques to study the cell membrane and taking this understanding to produce useful bio-technological tools inspired by biology. This is the realm of synthetic biology. Our work is inherently interdisciplinary and we comprise a multidisciplinary team of researchers and collaborators.

We are based at Cardiff University in the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences within the College of Biomedical and Life Sciences. We work closely with colleagues from a range of disciplines in Cardiff, the UK and Globally in our research, interfacing with both academia and industry.

We have a particularly close working relationship with the research group of Prof. David Barrow in the Cardiff School of Engineering with several joint research projects unifying the research tools and methodologies of our complementary labs.
